about: the blog
Mommy & Kumquat is a Park City, Utah based fashion & lifestyle blog curated by a small town gal with a penchant for prose, a keen eye for style and an amazing baby girl. Mommy & Kumquat follows her adventures as a new mom trying to dress the part, and focuses on Utah style, fashion and culture and regularly spotlights local small businesses and individuals that are considered influencers in Utah's fashion scene.
Formerly Frayed Threads, Mommy & Kumquat is a blog about reinvention - about taking up the frayed threads of a previous life and weaving them together into something new and beautiful. Written by Jennifer Booth, the aim of this blog is to represent life in a real, honest way that women everywhere can relate to.

Written by Jennifer Booth, the aim of this blog is to represent life in a real, honest way that women everywhere can relate to.
This venture began in 2010; what started out as a hobby to fill a gaping void in Jennifer's life and to share her passion for style quickly morphed into a full-fledged creative obsession - with culture, fashion, style, art, learning and with all of life’s most beautiful and terrifying moments. Jennifer likes to call it “that moment when you finally say to hell with being perfectly nice”; the moment you let go of what holds you down and finally learn to move forward as who you really are. At its existential core, Mommy & Kumquat is her open documentation of that journey.
The vision that drives Mommy & Kumquat is to explore, discover and share the style and culture of the world, particularly the local community, as well as the trials and the joys that come with being not just a single mother, but a single woman in today’s world, in an entertaining and upbeat but realistic way. With a focus on learning and self-expression, Mommy & Kumquat has earned a dedicated audience and is respected in the Utah fashion world as an authority on local style, culture and society.

about: mommy
Jennifer blogs from the snowy mountain town of Park City, Utah (home of the Sundance Film Festival and the greatest snow on Earth), where she lives with her adorable baby girl (codename: Kumquat), though their adventures range across northern Utah and frequently include Salt Lake, Tooele, Heber and anywhere else the road takes them.
Jennifer subscribes to the theory that a person's style is a visual portrayal of who they feel they are; it's a personal revelation, conscious or not, of your feelings, mood and self-worth and of where you come from.

Blogging has opened up many doors for her, but it is by no means Jennifer's end goal in life. She enjoys challenges, and right now, she's working to build a career as a leader in Utah business and marketing in the midst of starting a family. about: kumquat
Born in late May 2014, Kumquat is Jennifer’s only child. Her favorite hobbies include peek-a-boo, unloading cupboards and cabinets, eating and mimicking everything Mommy does. While she hasn’t developed Mommy’s love of playing dress up just yet, Mommy is confident that she’ll one day appreciate being the most stylish kiddo on the playground. Until then, however, Kumquat is quite content to wear rasberry on her shirt and pants on her head.
